Keyless Car Theft - Helios Park, Blackwater

Police would like to make you aware of an attempted theft of motor vehicle which has taken place in the early hours of Thursday 9th October 2025.

At approximately 0200, an unknown person has gained entry to a high value vehicle in Helios Park, Blackwater, by cutting a hole in the side of the driver’s side door to defeat the locking mechanism. It is believed that the suspect has also been equipped with a signal cloning device which may also be used to clone keyless entry signals. The vehicle was not stolen however significant damage has been done to the vehicle.

Were you in the area at the time and did you notice anyone acting suspiciously? Do you have CCTV or a camera doorbell which may have obtained images of a suspect? If so, please contact us by calling 101 or via our website, quoting reference number 44250457070.

Police have been patrolling the estate today and will continue to do so throughout the evening to deter offenders and detect offences taking place. 

In the meantime, if you have a high powered and/or keyless entry vehicle, keep your keys away from your front door and always use a faraday bag to protect the key’s signal. Do not leave valuables inside your vehicle such as wallets and purses, or tablet computers. Park your vehicle in a high footfall, well lit area so that any offenders will be easily seen should they try and steal your vehicle.
