The National Police Chief’s Council have created the following 3 Spiking resources to share with partners:

Register your cameras to help us fight crime 

Did you know you can register your CCTV and doorbell cameras to help us fight crime? Whether you have CCTV cameras at your business or doorbell cameras at your home address, you can register them today with Hampshire and IOW Constabulary’s Community Portal to help us deter and solve crime.

Registering your cameras will enable us to request relevant footage when investigating crime and incidents in your area. Once registered, you will receive a simple email notification inviting you to assist with a local investigation.

Yellow Door #YouAreNot Alone

Sexual abuse and rape against males is an underreported crime. It can take on average 26 years for men to disclose the abuse. 

Yellow Door provide counselling to men who have experienced sexual abuse. There is no shame in reaching out for help. When you are ready to talk about it, they are here for you.

Warning to #ProtectYourPension 

Savers and those reaching retirement age are being warned to protect their pensions and look out for criminals trying to catch people out of their life savings, with Action Fraud revealing a total annual loss of £17,567,249. This equates to roughly £48,129 lost to this type of fraud per day in 2024.

Ignore unsolicited calls about your pension: cold calling about pensions is illegal and likely a sign of a scam.

Investment opportunities: don’t be rushed into making an investment. Remember, legitimate organisations will never pressure you into investing on the spot.

Mounted Rural Patrol (MRP) volunteers 

HIOWC are looking for additional MRP volunteers in Winchester Rural, Hart, Rushmoor, Alton and North of Test Valley areas.  Volunteers must own a horse or have permission from the owner of another horse to undertake mounted rural patrols. The closing date for applications is 22 September.  Key accountabilities and essential criteria can be found here. 

Are you dealing with child-to-parent violence?

Yellow Door will be running a new Building Respectful Families group with Southampton Family Trust in October, an 8 week programme for parents/carers of children aged 8-14 years old, who are dealing with child-to-parent violence. The course will have a special focus on parenting children with ADHD and/or Autism (diagnosed or awaiting diagnosis).
