CCTV footage released after bike rider collides with five-year-old girl in Winchester

We’re releasing some CCTV footage as part of an investigation into a collision on a footpath in Winchester.

A bike – described as an E-bike – collided with a five-year-old girl as it travelled down the footpath between that leads from Alresford Rd to Easton Lane, and runs adjacent to the Winnall tower blocks / Tesco store.

The incident happened at around 1.38pm on 19 April.

The girl was taken to hospital to be treated for fractures to her skull and jaw.

The rider – who was wearing black clothes and a face covering – did initially stop at the scene, however details were not exchanged and he left the area on foot prior to police arrival.

Since this was reported to us, officers have been carrying out a number of enquiries and are keen to hear from anyone who can identify the rider featured in the CCTV footage.

You can view the CCTV footage on our YouTube channel here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jh3HVXUbG-8
