A man has been arrested after officers located suspected Class A drugs and more than £1,700 in cash in Basingstoke yesterday.

We were called at 3.40pm on Monday 5 May to a report of a potential drug deal taking place on Fullbrook Drive.

Officers attended the scene and detained a man.

Following a search, they located a white plastic bag containing more than 130 wraps of suspected Class A drugs. £1,730 in cash was also seized.

A 24-year-old man from London was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of Class A.

He remains in custody while our enquiries continue.
