Good morning,

If you’re a local resident you’ll know that off-road motorbike use is a regular issue throughout Yateley, particularly on our green spaces and on the disused airfield up at Blackbushe.

A quick look on our social media or on Hampshire Alert will show you that we’re actively targeting this. We’re visiting the airfield regularly prevent people causing vehicular antisocial behaviour and nuisance to people using our green spaces for leisure, and we hope you’ve noticed.

Last week we seized a quad bike being used under section 165 of the Road Traffic Act, as the vehicle was being ridden without a valid insurance policy.

This week I’ve attended an address in Blackwater and given a section 59 warning under the Police Reform Act, after a vehicle was sighted by a member of the public on the airfield and identified through Police enquiries. The driver has admitted vehicular ASB, and this means that if they are seen riding in an antisocial manner again, the vehicle can be seized. You can see a copy of

We’ll continue to target the area and use the powers at our disposal in order to enforce the law and keep our green spaces safe for children, dog walkers, cyclists, and everyone visiting our wonderful area.

Stay safe,

PC 27999 Ben Blundell,
Local Bobby for Yateley, Blackwater and Hawley.
